Havura Mission Statement

The Jewish Community Havura was created early in 2006 with the hope that it will be a vibrant and inclusive Jewish community organization which is open to all. 

We seek to provide egalitarian Jewish religious services where liturgy is continually evolving, and where all Jews are invited and encouraged to play an active role in designing and leading services.

And to provide Jewish cultural, social, and outreach activities for all who are interested;

To provide Jewish educational opportunities for all adults and children who seek Jewish learning.

And to provide Jewish Shabbat, holiday, cultural and social opportunities for students at Memorial University of Newfoundland and local colleges;

To provide a framework for Jewish social activism on behalf of those in need, guided by the spirit of righteousness (tzedakah).
